Dr. Lucas is very practical when it comes to practicing medicine. She wants what's best for her patients, and she wants it now. Patients and referring physicians appreciate her thoroughness. Dr. Lucas expects the same standards of excellence from everyone who comes in contact with her patients.

Dr. Lucas has been a member of the Cancer Care of WNC staff since 1998. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Oncology, and is board-certified in Hematology.

Dr. Lucas earned her B.S. degree in Biology with Magna Cum Laude distinction from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky. She chose the University of Kentucky College of Medicine for the Medical Degree, which is where she also completed her internship, residency and fellowship in Hematology and Oncology. She received her Doctorate from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky, and completed her residency and fellowship there.

Her commitment to cancer care extends beyond the practice, as she is an active member of the American Cancer Society Board. Additionally, she is known for being an enthusiastic sports fan.
